Built on the ruins of a Gallo-Roman villa (by architect Jean Novel), this archaeological museum offers a fascinating insight into P\u00e9rigueux&#8217;s ancient history.  <br\/><br\/>We love the museum&#8217;s bright, open setting and all the interactive terminals! A museum where learning is fun. The museum is located 20 minutes from the town center. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perigueux-vesunna.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Vesunna museum website<\/a>.<br\/><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Discover the Mus\u00e9e d&#8217;Art et d&#8217;Arch\u00e9ologie du P\u00e9rigord<\/strong>: This museum houses a vast collection of objects ranging from prehistoric to modern times, including works of art and archaeological artifacts.<br\/><br\/>I (Floriane) know this museum like the back of my hand, we used to go there at least once a year as a family, during the big annual game that was organized to discover the collections in a fun way. Today, several events are organized each year, and you can consult the list on the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.perigueux-maap.fr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">museum website<\/a>. The museum is located in the heart of the historic center, a 5-minute walk from Les <a href=\"https:\/\/apparts-limogeanne.com\/\">Apparts Limogeanne<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Saint Front Cathedral  <\/h3>\n\n<p>You can visit the <strong>interior of Saint-Front Cathedral<\/strong> even on rainy days. This imposing cathedral, with its Byzantine architecture, is an ideal place to admire works of art and religious architecture. P\u00e9rigueux&#8217;s cinema is located in the city center.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Caves and chasms<\/h3>\n\n<p>The Dordogne is famous for its many chasms and caves, so here are two ideas located around 50 minutes from P\u00e9rigueux. You can combine the 2 in the same day.<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The must-see <strong>Lascaux IV cave and its interactive museum<\/strong>. This is obviously a replica of the original, so remember to book your ticket in advance on the Internet.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Gouffre de Proumeyssac<\/strong>, the largest cave in the Dordogne, will impress you with its depth and geological riches.
